USU Summer Piano Festival

A typical daily schedule includes two coachings, two rehearsals, and sessions ranging from instrumental and chamber music master classes to lecture demonstrations. Additionally, students will receive private lessons with members of the Fry Street Quartet and USU piano faculty. 

Activities will include attending several musical performances throughout the week including the Fry Street Quartet, Ezola/Olson Piano Duo, and the Utah Festival Opera. Festival participants will get to perform in the Russell Wanlass Performance Hall and the Logan Tabernacle. In addition to evening performances, students will get to enjoy recreational activities like kayaking at beautiful First Dam.

Housing & Meals


Total Festival Fee


$50 deposit due after acceptance and at time of registration with the remainder due July 1, 2019.

Students will be housed in the Merrill Hall dormitory, a short 2-minute walk from the music building. Rooms are double occupancy.

Resident Assistants for the festival will live in Merrill Hall as well, and will provide supervision and guidance throughout the week.

Meals will be provided through USU Dining Services.

*For local student participants who do not wish to live on-campus during the festival, a $150 meal plan is required in place of the $305 Housing & Meals fee, making the total festival fee $450.

After we have received your information, we will contact you by email ( to provide you with the materials you need to complete the application process. Once you have completed your application process, tuition will be due.

Please note that all online submissions before April 23 were not received due to technical difficulties which have now been resolved. 

The experience of students who attend the USU Summer Piano Festival is enriched by opportunities which are only possible because of the generous support of organizations and individuals who believe in the arts and understand the value of music education.
