Teacher Training Workshop 

The Teacher Training Workshop is an opportunity for teachers to learn, share, and grow as professionals with internationally-recognized specialists. Open to participation either in-person or online, LIVE sessions will take place between 9:00am and 1:30pm on June 24 and 25. All events will be recorded for registered participants to access later. Presentations will incorporate questions from participants, and lunchtime round-table discussions will invite conversation with other teachers at all levels. Attendees can sign up for optional 1-on-1 consultations with USU piano faculty for focused feedback on teaching or playing free of cost. The registration deadline is Monday, June 21.

Piano Competition

Pianists ages 14-18 will compete for cash prizes: 1st - $500, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $100. Contestants will be provided with a professional-quality video recording of their competition performances, and can attend the Teacher Training Workshop for no additional cost. The Piano Competition will take place live and in-person in USU's acclaimed Russel-Wanlass Performance Hall between 2:00pm and 8:30pm on 25. 

Stage 1: Pre-Screening recording, due with application and $25 fee by Saturday, June 14, 2021 at 11:59 PM
Stage 2: June 25, 2:00-6:00pm - Live performance in RWPH. Finalists announced at 6:00pm. 
Stage 3: June 25, 7:30pm - Selected finalists' evening recital, open to the public. Prizes announced at the conclusion of the program.

Repertoire: Two or more contrasting solo compositions. Pre-screening repertoire may be the same or different from the live competition repertoire.
There is no minimum or maximum time limit, and individual movements are allowed.

Competition applicants may attend the Teacher Training Workshop for no additional cost.
