Pre-registration is required. Enrollment will be limited according to vocal class availability (based on age and gender) on a first-come, first-served basis with reference to payment submission date. You will be notified if your vocal class is full and placed on a waiting list.  No university housing is available.

After completing the Registration and Singer Profile Form, please submit payment via PayPal, check or money order. NO CASH PLEASE.


Max Moreno

Jennifer Erickson, Guest Artist 2019

Jennifer Erickson is a passionate teacher, coach, director, music director, as well as a dynamic singing actress in her own right. Most recently, Jennifer sang the role of Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors with NEXT Ensemble of Ogden, an annual production that she had stage directed in previous years. Other recent projects include serving as a diction coach for the Utah Symphony Chorus, music directing and conducting Weber State University’s production of Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, serving as Drama Coach for the world premier of Neely Bruce’s massive oratorio Circular 14: The Apotheosis of Aristides at the Salt Lake Tabernacle, and singing the Grumpy Voice in Rob Kapilow’s one act opera, Green Eggs and Ham, with the Salt Lake Symphony.
Jennifer has directed and assistant directed at the university and professional levels works such as Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Aida (Verdi), Falstaff (Verdi), andHansel and Gretel (Humperdinck)Jennifer’s other credits include singing the title character in Massenet’s Cendrillon and Madame Lidoine, the second prioress in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites
Comfortable in many operatic genres, she has also taken the stage as Dinah (Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti), Ottavia (Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea), Mozart heroines Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Mrs. Gleaton (Floyd’s Susannah). She has performed several times with the Moab Music Festival – most notably the world premier of scenes from Gerald Elias’ William Grandstaff, and in the Trouble in Tahiti trio and the soprano soloist for “Dream with Me” in an all-Bernstein program.
Jennifer completed a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Utah, where she also received her master’s in Vocal Performance. Jennifer has a passion for teaching voice, and has particularly enjoyed working at the university level for the past eight years, at the University of Utah, Weber State University, and Utah State University. Jennifer’s pride and joy are her husband and four daughters, all of whom sing.

Laurie Hart

Laurie Hart, Artistic Director

Laurie Hart, VPC Artistic Director, has been part of VPC for several years and is currently on the voice faculty at Utah State University. She graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. After graduation, she began teaching private voice at USU and continues performing whenever possible. Favorite roles include Yum Yum (The Mikado), Guinevere (Camelot), Tuptim (King and I), Mother (Hansel and Gretel), Helena (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Fay Templeton (George M!), and Narrator (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).

Brianna Krause

Brianna Krause, Assitant Camp Director

Brianna Craw Krause, soprano, holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from both Utah State University and University of Michigan in vocal performance. She performed many operatic title roles with the USU and University of Michigan Opera Theatres. Brianna has been a featured soloist in various performance venues around the United States and Europe including the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington D.C.), the Michigan Opera Academy, Handmade Opera Company (London, England), Utah Festival Opera Company, Utah Opera Society, Mountain West Songfest, and the American Festival Chorus. Brianna was a National Finalist in the 2010 National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition and was rated in the top six singers in the Nation.  Brianna is a sought-after vocal instructor with over 18 years’ teaching experience including 9 years of teaching voice in the USU Vocal Department. She is the Assistant Director of the new Logan Music Academy in Cache Valley and is also the Director of the Logan Music Academy vocal group Songbirds.

Well known in Utah for over 15 years, Vocal Performance Camp for boys and girls ages 12 through 18 years is held each summer in Cache Valley in the Chase Fine Arts Center at Utah State University. Sponsored by the USU Department of Music, this camp offers a unique cross-training experience believing that young singers benefit from classical vocal training as the appropriate entry to musical theater.
