Heather Honaker, soprano, holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She has studied with Metropolitan Opera singer Joyce Guyer and internationally-renowned opera singers David Okerlund and Kristine Ciesinski. Her roles have included Lula in Carlisle Floyd's Cold Sassy Tree, Nella in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, as well as the partial roles of First Lady, Madama Butterfly, and Donna Anna. Heather’s concert work includes soprano solos with the Collegiate Singers and the FSU Chamber Choir as well as Handel’s Messiah.
An experienced teacher, Heather has been working with students at the collegiate level for over 8 years. Her interest in pedagogy has brought her experience with private and group lessons, as well as a philosophy that is centered around the individuality of each student. In addition, she is an accomplished pianist, and has also acted as a sought-after vocal coach/accompanist at the collegiate level, working with dozens of singers who were preparing for juries, auditions, and recitals. Heather also maintains an active private voice and piano studio.
