Sherilyn Lee Mann received both her bachelor’s (2011) and master’s degree (2013) in piano performance and pedagogy from Utah State University (graduating with honors), studying under Professors Gary Amano and Dennis Hirst. During her studies at USU, she was a two-time recipient of the Sandra Rigby music scholarship. She has been a top prize winner in various statewide and regional competitions and was chosen to solo with the USU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Sergio Bernal. Sherilyn has also performed in various events including USU Founder’s Day, where she was featured playing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”, The Logan Tabernacle Annual Summer Concert Series, and in a benefit concert for the San Francisco Chinatown YMCA Youth Programs in California. She has also served as a principal accompanist for the Foulger International Music Festival and is currently serving as a piano instructor on the USU associate piano faculty. She has taught Keyboard Harmony courses and Youth Conservatory theory classes as well. Aside from teaching university students, she maintains a private piano studio of 20+ young students with ages ranging from 6-18. On her off-time, Sherilyn enjoys the culinary arts/baking, yoga, hiking, traveling, and good company with friends and family.
