Collaborative pianist and vocal coach Dallas K Heaton is an in-demand recitalist in
the intermountain west. With degrees from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (AD-Opera
Coaching), Arizona State University (MM-Collaborative Piano), and Brigham Young University-Idaho
(BMA-Piano Performance), Dallas is currently on faculty at Utah State University.
As the director of USU’s Opera Theatre, Dallas recently produced Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World and Menotti’s Help, Help the Globolinks! to critical acclaim and teaches lyric diction and vocal repertory.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dallas also regularly works with Utah Festival Opera as assistant conductor/chorusmaster/vocal coach/pianist with their musical theater and opera productions (Ragtime, Peter Pan, How to Succeed…, Les Misérables, Oklahoma!, Joseph...) and with Utah Opera (Madama Butterfly, Salome, Of Mice and Men, Il Trovatore, Barber of Seville), El Paso Opera (Marriage of Figaro, Barber of Seville), Opera Idaho (Die Zauberflöte, Carmen, La Bohème), and the Utah Festival Youth Conservatory. Dallas also enjoys the occasional opportunity to use his harpsichord and accordion training in early music and folk music ensembles.
